Becoming the Studio
The Artist studio can be sited in distant places. It can be a room with a table and walls, an office with screens, papers, and rulers, and it can be a placed of storage--endlessly being archived. My Art, the works created and my studio, as a place are sited in distant spaces. I needed a studio I can access outside of my studio in the field. I felt the need to attempt to preserve creative production. Wiki Taube Studio' bridges the gaps between my physical workspace—the Atelier, the Art created—its context, AND its (re)sources to a mass audience. The computer screen becomes the window for looking into a creative production. The wiki Studio is a virtual non-site—negating the rule and being in multiple places at once. A viewer or participant can come to this Studio from anywhere they like, at their own convenience. We are no longer limited by proximity to share our specialties and influence. The Studio is a site of exchange. No longer reclusive. I am constructing a vessel for the distribution of ideas while containing my own creative production to the structure of a practice. Within the Studio my role as an Artist is expanding to the Administrator, the Manager, the Employee, the Recruiter, the Curator, the Dealer, the Art-handler, and the Janitor of its CREATIVE PRODUCTION.
